Hello all of my wonderful DeviantArt friends! I hope that you are all doing well. I hope that your weather has been lovely and summer like as well! Lately here it has been raining. Today it has been pouring. It is rather disheartening, especially when we are given a taste of what it could be like. Alas, soon it will be more summer like.
Hopefully!
Anyway, I come to you all today with some very exciting news. Some of you may know about my group
. It is a wonderful group filled with wonderful and talented people from all around the world! How exciting is that? I have a passion for photography, but also for traveling, so this group is fun for looking at pictures from around the world. Recently someone contacted me and asked if I planned to do anything with the group, something to make it a little more exciting. Together we decided that it would be fun to start something special in the group. And so we decided that contests could be a new and exciting way to generate interest in the group as well as make it more than just a place to drop off your work. The contest we currently have going on is food. Who doesn't love food, much less pictures of food. My tummy rumbles just thinking about it.
Also, as I realized shortly after posting this first contest, some people were worried that this meant they had to go on a trip to take the pictures and contribute to this contest. The beauty of it is that you don't have to go anywhere. You can go in your own kitchen and make something up that you feel represents your area and submit a picture of that. You don't have to go anywhere! The way I see it is that we do not all live in the same place, so food from the place you live in may be different than where I live. All the same, I think it is a fun thing to do.
So what is the prize of this contest you might ask? You will receive a feature of ten of your works in your gallery as well as your winning picture going in the hall of fame! So please check it out! If you're interested then please join! We'll be delighted to have you!
As always I hope all is well. Happy Travels!
Always,
Lori
